fox business network diane macedo has the story. >> hi patti ann. a new congressional report says taxpayers picked up the tab for 894 conferences in 2012 to the tune of $340 million and that only covers those conferences that cost at least 100,000 dollars. the total figure is likely higher. those in conjunction with the house over site and government freerm committee also shows some agencies are far more fond than their convictions than others. the labor department for example held four big ticket conferences last year keeping the bill under $1 million even the gsa would cut back held only 3. the defense department the biggest department in dc held nearly 300 conferences at a cost of $89 million. the department of veteran affairs held 127 at a cost of 72.7 million the justice department held 107 at a cost of 58.7 million and health of human services held 140 at a cost of $56.1 million. one example of what that money goes to? the va spent 52,000 dollars to produce a video parody of the movie patton. government cuts are expect to do kick in tomorrow.
